Are they now possible, or does one still need to do the whole replace-patch-name-with-sound-cache ordeal? I saw that a few people here mentioned that model edits weren't working, but the skin edits were. Would anyone be able to confirm this? _________________

Like i already said before, when converting back to BLP with the BLPconverter you have to use the /r tag.
to do so first go to start and open the command promp, then drag and drop your BLPconverter into it, space and type /r and another space and then drag and drop your PNG into it, hit enter and you are done. this will force the program to convert useing the armor texture format.

most of that stuff is in art.mpq. best way to find out which textures belong to which item is to use model viewer. load any female character, equip the item, close model viewer, then look into the /userSettings/log.txt file.
Well, I've tried to make an MPQ file, but it doesn't work in-game. it just shows the default, unedited armor. What am I doing wrong?
I've done all the correct path files, saved them all as .BLP using the BLPPNGBBQ converter and renamed to SoundCache-3.MPQ, then put it into the sound cache.
I can't seem to find a current guide for texture editing. I have been trying to make my own armor edit patches. From what I know the process is to find the armor through an mpq editor such as ladik's mpq editor. Then you convert the BLP file to a PNG file and edit the PNG file through a program such as paint shop. I am not sure what to do after that, if that is the correct process. Do I convert the edited PNG file back to a BLP file and then repack it into ladik's editor? Sorry if I missed a current guide, I have not been able to find one.

Ahh, okay. How can I find these new armour skin files? _________________
