Here, I made a "working" armor hider. It is kind of ghetto-rigged but it gets the job done.
What it is:
Basically, all armor skins are a blank blp so they do not show up when wearing.
There are 4 MPQ files:
Chest Legs Hands Feet
You simply use whatever MPQ file of the piece of gear you want to use.
This will appear odd if you use it with any gloves and/or feet, but it can be fixed with a bit of model editing.
This also works with SHOULDERS AND ROBES, but it requires model editing and it is possible to be banned for it, but I have been using it for some time and as long as you keep your mouth shut you should be fine.
Included is a model swapping tool. You can set your robes or shoulders to "17128" under the model column and it will not show a model. This works on shoulders, feet, robes, any legs with models, and gloves. Just drag whatever item your character is wearing from the left field to the right, and change the model number and click save.
One thing that is kind of strange is that since it uses all the armor textures, everyone appears naked, including males. If you wanted to make only your characters armor you will have to find the individual textures for it all and create your own MPQ.
Or you can just make a nude twill set and use the model swapper to change each piece of your gear to the twill set. I just used the skin for my polished breastplate of valor simply because I happened to remember what the texture file was named.
But this won't entirely work with a robe, you will have to manually find the leg upper and leg lower textures of that robe and change them.

It does look weird though with feet.gloves, robes, and tabards. The last two are probably related. The gear models are there but they are colored in skin textures.
I'll try disabling gloves and feet later on to see if that fixes the issue.
Yeah I explained that, you will have to model edit to fix it.
So, if I use the chest MPQ, for example, then every chest piece I put on will be invisible? Sounds interesting; I'll have to try it out =). Is it possible to make a blank blp for the belt/waist?
I'm too much of a perv, I will just make everything naked! No need to choose the gear! Teeheheheheheeee!!!
The Hider appears to be a skin only hider. I don't mind that fact, but I was hoping that omitting the hands and feet would leave the skins to gloves and feet, so they don't look as funny. _________________ MELON BREAD!

The belt is actually included in leg upper textures, so if you use leg.mpq it should disable belt.

Yeah you have to use the model swapping tool to swap the model of your current gloves to one that do not have a model, or ANYTHING that doesn't have a model. A breastplate, for example.
