with brother, there is no such thing in the art. because even if you re-buy the original cartridges they are still relatively cheap in comparison to other manufacturers such as HP or Lexmark. For Brother, it's like really high-quality appliances that they sell for good money and not like the Canon where the genuine cartridges cost a fortune.
