Hello, I like the patch of Zilem, but had to admit, that I don't like all pictures he did choose. So I started to look into the blps and changed a lot of pictures. Most credits go to Zilem for the original work. Now it's time to share. Patch modifies ingame pictures at walls, rugs, banners, and pennants.
Pictures, banners, pennants, and rugs: [Update 28.12.2010]: -modified the motives on the bloodelven rugs -modified the human and horde argentdawn banner (new appearances in cataclysm) -added wildhammer and excavation banners -modified 3 worgen paintings and one KhazModan painting [Update 04.01.2011]: -added goblin banners (Falingard), some seasonal portraits -modified dragonmaw banner (Ihsahnity picture) -added Ogrimmar horde banners (Colero) -added forsaken pvp banner (Agnidevi) [Update 13.01.2011]: -added scarlet crusade, durnholde, horde, scourge banners -beautified many old banners -changed normal forsaken banner to the Agnidevi motive (argent dawn banner untouched)
Copy the content of the patch-Y.MPQ to /wow/data/cache/SoundCache-patch-13329.MPQ by the usage of a mpq editor. You can choose to replace the whole old file by renaming patch-Y.MPQ to SoundCache-patch-13329.MPQ, too, if you don't have or don't know how to use a mpq editor. LoadingScreens: Used many pictues from the picture patch, and added a lot of new art. [Update 28.12.2010]: -modified some of the cataclysm screens
Copy the content of the patch-L.MPQ to /wow/data/cache/SoundCache-patch-13329.MPQ by the usage of a mpq editor. You can choose to replace the whole old file by renaming patch-L.MPQ to SoundCache-patch-13329.MPQ, too, if you don't have or don't know how to use a mpq editor. World- & Screen Patch: [Update 13.01.2011]: (check above) This combines both of my patches and the statue edits done by Swiftlippin and Zilem in one single file, which is already renamed to SoundCache-patch-13329.MPQ. You only have to copy it to your wow/Data/Cache/ folder to make it work (There is a great chance, that you have to rename the patch file after the next bigger patch). Dude - check out the other threads in this forum. They give clear instructions on the current work-arounds for texture/load-screen modifications. (Not player-model edit mods, those don't currently work)
Here's a hint - the simple patch-X.MPQ does not work. _________________ HAZ

Without doublechecking my work live in the game I really don't like to insert them. Also I wonder where some of the Dalaran Paintings may hide. For any hints I'm very glad (Poster02/Painting_05).They should be in the Forsaken Buildings in northrend (by theory, im not on Horde) and Northern Eastern kingdoms in Cataclysm
Poster02: Is for the Jewelcrafting store, but only used at the Argent Coloseum near the profession trainers Paintings_05: Should be in the horde area of Darlaran _________________
I did a pictures and banner mod before, but this looks like it far exceeds what I did, and I like your taste in pictures to boot. Nice mod, thanks for making it!

I don't know how to explain it better than I already did in the first post of this thread. Whether you use a a mpq-editor and add the content of the patch-L.MPQ or patch-Y.MPQ to ../wow/Data/Cache/SoundCache-3.MPQ or you replace the whole file by renaming one of my files to SoundCache-3.MPQ in the Cache folder. By reading the other threads in this forum you can get more information about which other files in the wow/Data/Cache/ folder will work.
My private solution right now is, that I put everything I want patched in that single file wow/Data/Cache/SoundCache-3.MPQ. And except my loadingscreen and picture patch I only got some more world edits in there done by Swiftlippin and Zilem altering the look of statues. Pre-4.03 I also had Dyables modell edits included, but these don't work anymore (like all other modell edits).
DENNIS wrote: nice work! i've done huge amounts of these edits too, but have been afraid of posting them since i might get raged by artists since i didnt know most of their names back then.
gonna use this one, very nice choice of pics.Well i don't know evey artists name nor they're site/pages But im pretty sure they like to see their art in use in game, misunderstandings can happen (and is bound to happen), so it is important that you credit the artists that you know of atleast, if the others bump into you im sure they will ask you to credit them aswell give a link(s) to their art pages
It's annoying when you don't know an artists name because a random person uploaded one (or more) they're art at a picture host, and then showed them... or that you just randomly found the artwork on a forum (without given artist name) I speak of Experience...
keinikaidoh wrote: although no one's complaining about you not giving them credit for the original artworks, it'll be interesting to see what else they have. care to share the source? =PGiving Credit is important if you don't want artist biting your neck. or whorse a Moderator or Admin, as many of us are artists in different areas
Danaluna, im not sure why you included the: World\Expansion02\Doodads\Dalaran\Tailoring_01.blp as that is for any painting
Also the Custom borders of [Below] was ment for Azazel's artworks, as it is the border of the orginal art he made World\Generic\Human\Passive Doodads\Artwork\Armor03.blp World\Generic\Human\Passive Doodads\Artwork\Girl03.blp
also there is new paintings comming for Cataclysm, they might be found in Art.MPQ of current wow client (and you forgot the forsaken paintings) _________________

and yes i do: Worgen: World\Expansion03\Doodads\Worgen\Paintings\* Goblin: World\Generic\Goblin\Passivedoodads\Kezan\Items\* Pinup Calender: World\Generic\Goblin\Passivedoodads\PinupCalendar\*
i bet they are at other locations as well, wouldnt surprise me if they were in every forsaken inn in northrend, but thats the place where i saw em first.
thanks! gonna get to patchmaking right away. _________________
