Well...if you have a 1-layer image there are two ways of adding transparency. The two approaches are fundamentally different but both have their uses. 1) Go to menu Layer->Transparency->Add Alpha Channel. 2) Go to menu Layer->Mask->Add Layer Mask.
The bigger question is "how does Gimp save png's with transparency?" The answer to that is pretty simple: if the image is in RGB color mode and there is some transparency in the net (meaning the combination of layers) image, then there will be an 8-bit alpha channel in the png. If the image mode is Indexed or Greyscale then I don't know because it's hell working with those modes.
I pretty much just work in RGB mode and use BLPConverter with the /R switch on when making clothing textures. I think if you use RedAxle's tool you don't need to mess with any switches. _________________ Skins: Links:
Funny, I was just putting some of your sets back into rotation today.
Also, this little pink number looks great! Very cute - gonna try it on my Trolls immediately.
Tested with dyable's Troll Boob Upgrade - Between the choker, the thighhighs, armsleeves and the tiny, tiny thong, this is definitely one of my new favorites. Well done! _________________ ~Imaginary Life Story~
I haven't really done too much since my last update.
I remade Heavy Weave, not sure if you guys will be able to tell the difference when I update though. I also did a few other things on existing textures.
Since, you asked though, I think I'll work on it this week end.
